The "Servant of the People" party has elected a new leader. Today, December 17, at the party congress, it was announced that the first Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Alexander Kornienko, will become the new head. This was reported by the head of the party faction in parliament, Davyd Arakhamia.
The previous head of the party, Olena Shuliak, who led the "Servant of the People" since November 2021, has completed her second term. Davyd Arakhamia expressed gratitude to Shuliak for her quality and honest work as party leader and wished Kornienko success and inspiration in his new position.
Alexander Kornienko is a well-known politician who previously headed the election campaign of the "Servant of the People" and was listed as number 7 on the party's list in the 2019 elections. Since October 19, 2021, he has held the position of the first Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Kornienko has not yet commented on his appointment. The "Servant of the People" party is the president's political force and forms the majority in the Ukrainian parliament.
