Today in Ukraine, alerts were sounded due to possible launches of "Oreshnik" ballistic missiles. However, according to military information, the launch has not been confirmed.

Specifically, at 12:25, an air alert was declared across Ukraine due to the potential use of "Oreshnik." Preliminary data suggests that the missile can fly up to a range of 5500 km, with one of its warheads capable of carrying up to 36 strike elements.

Later, around 12:47, the Air Force of Ukraine reported that the threat of ballistic missile use had already passed. Thus, the information about the launch of "Oreshnik" could either be false or related to training.

Recall that "Oreshnik" debuted on the night of January 9, 2024, when an attack was carried out on the Lviv region. At that time, Ukraine recorded the falling of missile elements, including stabilization blocks and spare parts. Russia termed this attack a response to the incident involving the president's residence.

This missile system has become an important part of the Russian Federation's arsenal, proclaiming its power, although experts acknowledge that its effectiveness without nuclear warheads is low.

Expert Oleg Malchenko believes that the modern "Oreshnik" has become a part of Russia's psychological warfare, a testament to the emphasis on the greatness and might of the country, even if the true technical effectiveness remains in question.

Specialists urge not to underestimate the potential of this kind of ideological weapon, as its ability to influence public opinion may be just as important as physical strength.

At the same time, Ukrainian air defense systems, including American "Patriot," have demonstrated their effectiveness in destroying similar threats, including "Kinzhal" missiles, which did not meet Russia's expectations.

As a result, as noted by a military representative, transparency in this matter is critically important so that people have reliable information about potential threats.
