Attacks Intensify on the Kharkiv Front: Trehubov Explains the Reason

Russian forces have increased their assault activity on the Kharkiv front in recent days. The increase has been particularly noticeable over the past several days, according to Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russians Try to Exploit Weather Conditions

According to Trehubov, one of the reasons behind the increased activity is weather conditions. Rain temporarily made it more difficult for Ukrainian forces to operate drones effectively, and Russian troops attempted to use this situation to advance.

“The Russians tried to take advantage of this to advance — during a period when drones were operating somewhat less effectively,” Trehubov explained.

He said that the intensity of fighting remains high, particularly on the Lyman and South Slobozhansky fronts.

Russian Forces Increase Pressure

Rainy weather can affect the effectiveness of UAVs, which play a crucial role in reconnaissance and targeting on the battlefield. Trehubov said Russian forces attempted to increase the pace of their attacks during this period.

However, the increased activity does not necessarily mean that Russian troops have achieved a breakthrough. It indicates a rise in the number of attacks and attempts to advance on certain sections of the front, while the battlefield situation remains dynamic.

Reports have also indicated increased Russian activity on the South Slobozhansky front, where Russian forces have attempted in recent weeks to establish several small areas of control near the Ukrainian border.

The Most Active Areas of the Front

According to reports from Ukraine's General Staff, fighting remains intense on several sections of the front. The Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka fronts have also been among the areas where Russian forces have been particularly active.

Overall, Russian forces have been attempting to use favorable weather conditions to increase offensive pressure. At the same time, Ukraine's Defense Forces continue to hold back Russian attacks and prevent the enemy from achieving its objectives.
