Russian forces have recently most often attempted to send attack drones into Ukraine through Chernihiv and Sumy regions. The enemy periodically uses routes through Kharkiv region, while increased activity has also recently been recorded through the southern regions.
This was reported by Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. According to him, Ukrainian servicemen and mobile fire teams operating in border areas regularly detect attempts by Russian drones to enter Ukrainian airspace.
Most Drones Enter Through the Northern Border
According to Demchenko, Sumy and Chernihiv regions remain the main directions. At the same time, activity has increased along the Kharkiv direction, while Russian forces have recently begun using routes through southern regions more frequently.
This means Russian forces are using different directions to bring attack UAVs into Ukrainian airspace, allowing them to change routes and complicate the work of Ukrainian air defenses.
Mobile Fire Teams Intercept Drones Near the Border
One of the key tasks of Ukrainian forces along the border is to detect and destroy drones along their entry routes into Ukraine.
Mobile fire teams work to prevent attack UAVs from advancing deeper into the country. This approach helps reduce the risk of drones reaching more distant regions and potential targets.
Demchenko said Ukrainian border guards continue to record active use of drones by Russian forces along various sections of the border.
Russia Has Increased Drone Activity in the South
Border guards are also paying particular attention to the southern direction, where increased drone activity has recently been observed.
At the same time, Russian forces continue to use attack drones against Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure.
In particular, Mykolaiv was attacked by Russian strike drones. A 75-year-old woman was injured in the attack, and medics provided assistance at the scene. Private and apartment buildings, as well as an industrial facility, were also damaged.
According to medical workers, the woman suffered an acute stress reaction. Her condition was reported as satisfactory.
Main Routes Used by Russian UAVs
According to the State Border Guard Service, several directions are currently among those most frequently used by Russian forces:
- Sumy region — one of the main directions;
- Chernihiv region — one of the most active routes;
- Kharkiv region — drones periodically enter through this area, with activity increasing;
- Southern regions — increased use of these routes has also recently been recorded.
Ukrainian border guards and mobile fire teams continue working to destroy attack drones as close as possible to their entry routes into Ukraine, preventing them from advancing deeper into the country.
