On the night of February 12, a powerful missile strike occurred on the arsenal of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, located near the settlement of Kotluban in the Volgograd region of Russia. The strike was carried out by the forces of the Defense Forces of Ukraine using a long-range strike system. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on social media.
According to the department's information, the arsenal is one of the largest sites for storing ammunition, missiles, and explosives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Numerous explosions and secondary detonations were recorded at the attack site. The extent of the damage caused is still being clarified.
The Governor of the Volgograd region, Andrey Bocharov, confirmed that the missile attack led to a fire on the territory of this facility. Authorities are evacuating residents of Kotluban due to the danger of further detonations as a result of the attack.
Additionally, Ukrainian forces also struck the "Volgograd" oil refinery, where significant damage to the main installations has been noted. Apparently, this plant has strategic importance for meeting the needs of the Russian army.
As of today, the results of the missile attacks are unknown, as the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation does not publish detailed information about the consequences of enemy strikes. At the same time, Russian sources report the alleged downing of 106 drones overnight, two of which were over the Volgograd region.
Conclusion
The conflict continues, and both sides continue to strike each other, which only exacerbates the situation in the region. Law enforcement agencies are still assessing the scale of the damages, and evacuation measures remain in effect.
