President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, in a recent address, unveiled details regarding the Ukrainian missile program, particularly announcing new types of missiles that are already being used by Ukrainian military forces in the conflict with Russia. Among them, he highlighted the "Sapsan" missile, which has already begun its combat career.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine is actively employing missiles such as "Neptune," "Long Neptune," "Palyanytsia," "Flamingo," as well as "Sapsan." The president emphasized the high effectiveness of the "Neptunes," noting that they have demonstrated their capabilities in combat and have become a serious threat to the enemy.
Status of Ukraine's Missile Program
The current president stressed that the Ukrainian military continues to develop and implement new technologies. He reported that the ballistic missile "Sapsan," whose warhead weighs 480 kg, is already entering series production, enhancing its potential in combat operations.
Zelensky noted that he cannot disclose details regarding the number and frequency of the use of new missiles, as this could harm Ukraine's strategy in the war.
Successes in Testing
It is worth recalling that "Long Neptune," the Ukrainian upgraded version of "Neptune," has undergone successful testing and its series production is planned by the end of this year. According to Western media reports, the "Flamingo" missiles have significant advantages over their American counterparts, such as the Tomahawk, in terms of range and warhead.
This news indicates the active development of defense technologies in Ukraine and the readiness to counter external threats, which is crucial in light of the rising tensions with Russia.
