LG Electronics announced the release of the UltraFine evo 6K (32U990A) — the world's first monitor with a Thunderbolt 5 port. This model is designed for video editors, designers, and other professionals who work with large volumes of graphics.
The new product features a 32-inch screen with a resolution of 6K (6144 × 3456) and a pixel density of 224 ppi. The monitor covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color space and 99.5% of Adobe RGB, supports VESA DisplayHDR 600, and has factory calibration for accurate color reproduction, including compatibility with macOS. For content creators, there is a Studio Mode with three pre-set profiles.

Thunderbolt 5 provides unidirectional data transfer rates of up to 120 Gbps — three times faster than the previous generation Thunderbolt 4. This is more than sufficient for real-time rendering of 4K content and working with 8K RAW files. The monitor can also function as a hub for peripheral devices, has a built-in KVM switch, and supports both Mac and Windows devices.
The manufacturer claims that the UltraFine evo 6K has 2.56 times more pixels than UHD 4K panels. When using two such displays, the workspace increases by nearly five times.
The Virtually Borderless design with minimal bezels and an ergonomic stand is developed for multi-monitor setups and convenient switching between landscape and portrait modes.
This model has already received the CES 2025 Innovation Award and the iF Design Award 2025. Shipments of the UltraFine evo 6K began at the end of September in South Korea and Japan, with a global launch starting in October, including the US and European countries.
