This morning, November 28, employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) conducted searches at Andriy Yermak, the head of the President's Office, in the government quarter. According to a correspondent from "Ukrainska Pravda," about ten employees from both organizations arrived at the scene.

These searches are part of the investigation into the sensational "Midas" case, connected with large-scale corruption in the energy sector. Earlier, on November 25, NABU Director Semen Kryvonos noted that this investigation would expand and new suspects may arise.

There is significant media and political interest regarding the searches. For instance, MP from "Holos," Yaroslav Zhelezniak, confirmed information about the searches, and MP from "European Solidarity," Oleksiy Honcharenko, posted updates on his Telegram channel.

Background

It should be reminded that on November 10, NABU already conducted searches at businessman Timur Mindych and Minister of Justice Herman Halushchenko. The investigations have uncovered the scale of corruption schemes, particularly at "Energoatom," where several key figures have been detained.

The searches at Yermak's office sparked discussions in political circles, as the "Mindych tapes" mention an individual nicknamed "Ali Baba," who is believed to have influence over law enforcement agencies.

The discussion about the scale of corruption in Ukraine has intensified amid current investigative actions, with new suspicions affecting not only government officials but also businessmen associated with the authorities.

According to NABU, corrupt practices included "kickbacks" of 10-15% of contract values, indicating systematic corruption in the public sector.

In light of the recent events, further investigations and reactions from state institutions will be monitored.
