The head of the "Foreign Intelligence Service" Oleg Ivashchenko is expected to become the new leader of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. This was reported by sources in President Volodymyr Zelensky's team.
Background of the Appointment
Previously, President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Kyrylo Budanov, the former head of the GUR, as the head of the President's Office, replacing Andrii Yermak in this position.

The head of the parliamentary faction "Servant of the People" David Arakhamia supported the president's decision, noting that Budanov has proven himself to be a professional military serviceman and manager.
Budanov himself stated that he considers the new position another milestone of responsibility before the country during a historic time for Ukraine.
