Searches are ongoing in Kyiv concerning Ukrainian Member of Parliament Anna Skorokhod, who is suspected of receiving a large bribe. According to The Universal Platform, this information has been confirmed by sources in law enforcement agencies, specifically in the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP).
Anna Skorokhod, who represents the "For the Future" party, is the head of a criminal group that, according to anti-corruption agencies, demanded $250,000 from an entrepreneur. Investigative actions continue, and organizations promise to provide details of the case later.
Background of the scandal
This situation is not the first in Skorokhod's career. In November 2019, she accused the authorities of detaining her husband, which she believed was linked to her voting against the land market opening bill. In response, the head of the "Servant of the People" faction, David Arakhamia, accused the MP of attempting to offer bribes and lobbying the interests of oligarchs.
After a series of mutual accusations, Skorokhod was expelled from the "Servant of the People" faction and joined the deputy group "Party of the Future," associated with the oligarch Ihor Kolomoyskyi.
What’s next?
The case against Skorokhod will continue to be investigated. As of now, the details of the searches and suspicions remain undisclosed, but anti-corruption agencies have assured that they will provide more information soon.
