Starting January 1, 2026, significant changes in the social sphere have taken effect in Ukraine, including an increase in minimum wage and the introduction of new state support programs.

Changes in Wage Compensation

The minimum wage has increased from 8,000 to 8,647 hryvnias. This will automatically impact social payments, taxes, and other financial indicators. For workers receiving minimum wage, the actual take-home pay will be around 6,650 hryvnias after taxes.

Support for Families with Children

The government has introduced a new childbirth assistance system. Parents now receive a one-time payment of 50,000 hryvnias instead of the previous 41,280 hryvnias. Additionally:

  • Unemployed pregnant women will receive a monthly payment of 7,000 hryvnias
  • The "eNursery" program has been launched with a monthly compensation of 8,000 hryvnias

In 2026, the following have also changed:

  • Teacher salaries (30% increase)
  • Mobilization rules
  • Pension calculation conditions
  • Medical preventive programs

The government emphasizes that these changes are aimed at strengthening social protection for citizens during martial law.
