Starting January 1, 2026, the subsistence minimum in Ukraine has been officially changed, which will directly impact various social payments and benefits for citizens.
New Subsistence Minimum Indicators
According to the Law of Ukraine "On the State Budget for 2026", the subsistence minimum is set at 3,209 hryvnias per person per month. For different social groups, the amounts will be:
- Children under 6 years: 2,817 hryvnias
- Children from 6 to 18 years: 3,512 hryvnias
- Working-age persons: 3,328 hryvnias
- Persons who have lost working capacity: 2,595 hryvnias
Changes in Social Payments
Increasing the subsistence minimum will have a significant impact on the amounts of various social benefits:
Alimony
The minimum alimony amount will be:
- For children under 6 years: 1,408.50 hryvnias
- For children from 6 to 18 years: 1,756 hryvnias
Disability Benefits
Benefit amounts for persons with disabilities:
- Group I: 2,595 hryvnias
- Group II: 2,076 hryvnias
- Group III: 1,557 hryvnias
- Disabled minors: 1,816.50 hryvnias
Payments to Combat Veterans
Minimum payments for combat veterans may amount to approximately 5,449.50 hryvnias, with an additional monthly supplement of 648.75 hryvnias.
Experts emphasize that these changes are an important step to support socially vulnerable population groups and partially compensate for inflationary processes.
