Large-Scale System Accident and Power Supply Restoration
After the system accident on January 31, which caused widespread power outages across the country, Ukrenergo announced a return to planned power supply schedules on February 1st.
Accident Details
According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, two power transmission lines stopped working - between Romania and Moldova and within Ukraine's territory. The preliminary cause was adverse weather conditions, particularly ice formation on power lines.
Outage Schedules
On Sunday, February 1st, hourly power outage schedules will be in effect in all regions of Ukraine. Specifically:
- Lviv Region: 1-2 outages per day, 3.5-7 hours each
- Kharkiv Region: three outages of 14-17 hours
- Dnipropetrovsk Region: 2-4 outages, up to 19 hours
- Kyiv Region: three outages of 13.5-15.5 hours
"The need for economical energy consumption remains in all regions," Ukrenergo emphasized.
