A program called "Winter Support" is launching in Ukraine, which will provide a one-time payment of 6500 UAH to socially vulnerable groups. The funds are aimed at people who have suffered the most from the war or are in difficult life circumstances.
As reported by Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko, the program is intended to support the population during the winter period. Applications for the payments have started to be accepted from today. To receive financial assistance, Ukrainians can register via the "Diia" app or visit the Pension Fund office.
Who Can Receive Assistance?
The 6500 UAH payment will be available to:
- Children under guardianship or care;
- Children with disabilities and their caregivers;
- Internally displaced persons with group I disabilities;
- Children from low-income families under the age of 18;
- Single pensioners receiving a care allowance.
The assistance can be spent within 180 days on needs such as clothing, footwear, medications, and vitamins. To apply through the "Diia" app, users need to update the app to the latest version, complete the registration process, confirm the presence of a "Diia Card," and submit their application.
What Else is Available?
Meanwhile, Ukrainians can receive an additional 1000 UAH under the "Winter eSupport" program. These funds can be spent on utility services, medications, locally produced food, as well as charity and postal services.
Through these payments, the government aims to alleviate the living conditions of the most vulnerable segments of the population during the heating season. The budget for these payments has allocated 4.3 billion UAH.
