US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin reached a principled agreement on withdrawing Ukrainian troops from the Donbas territory during trilateral negotiations in Abu Dhabi (UAE). This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Negotiation Details

According to sources from "RBC-Ukraine", the negotiations lasted two days with official delegations from Ukraine, the USA, and Russia. The Ukrainian side was represented by NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov, the Russian side by GRU Chief Igor Kostyukov, and the American side by special representatives Steve Witke and Jared Kushner.

Conditions of the "Anchorage Formula"

Peskov emphasized that the Kremlin's key condition is the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian armed formations from the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. In return, the USA and Ukraine can expect partial "freezing" of the front in other regions.

Positions of the Parties

According to the Financial Times, the parties preliminarily discussed the possibility of introducing a so-called "energy truce", but no final agreement was reached on this issue.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told journalists that he is maintaining constant control over the course of negotiations and is in close contact with the Ukrainian delegation.

Next Steps

The negotiation participants agreed to continue consultations to develop a final version of the peace plan, which currently consists of 20 points.
