The head of the "Anti-Corruption Action Center" Vitaliy Shabunin accused the State Bureau of Investigations and the Prosecutor General's Office of publishing his intimate photos on social networks. He reported this on December 16 on his Facebook page, claiming that the photos were obtained from his phone, which was seized by law enforcement during a search.

“The SIB and PGO dumped my intimate photos from the phone into Telegram channels, which they accessed during the searches,” Shabunin wrote. According to him, this was retaliation for his activities and a recent publication of information about law enforcement officers who, according to him, obstructed the work of the NABU and SAPO.

He also stated that the actions of the law enforcement are a "new low" and are outrageous in nature.

Political support

Several members of parliament spoke out in support of Shabunin. In particular, Danylo Hetmantsev, chairman of the Financial Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, wrote: “Regardless of how one feels about Shabunin, he deserves support here... I demand an investigation of this crime and holding the guilty parties accountable.” MP Oleksiy Honcharenko also commented on the situation: “This is a demonstrative mockery of the law.”

It should be recalled that on July 11, the SIB notified Vitaliy Shabunin of suspicion of evasion of military service and fraud. Shabunin himself stated that the searches were carried out with violations and considers the suspicions to be absurd.

In response to the situation, Shabunin's defenders submitted a statement to the Security Service of Ukraine demanding an investigation into the case and disclosure of information about the events that took place.
