In the Myrhorod district, in the city of Hadyach, law enforcement officers confiscated weapons and narcotic substances from a 53-year-old local resident. This incident occurred after a man threw two airsoft grenades in the street of the city on the night of December 9 to 10, which exploded, although no one was injured.
According to information obtained by the law enforcement agencies, after the explosion of the grenades, a report was received at station No. 1 (city of Hadyach) of the Myrhorod district police department. The police immediately launched an investigation, resulting in the discovery that the man may be involved in other offenses.
Seizure of Weapons and Narcotic Substances
On December 10, during the initial investigative actions at the residence of the suspect, police found three pistols of various calibers and substances likely of narcotic origin. As reported by Serhiy Rekun, the first deputy head of the Poltava police, all seized items have been sent for expert examination.
Legal Responsibility
Based on these facts, police investigators opened criminal proceedings under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: part 1 of article 263 — for the illegal manufacture, acquisition, and possession of firearms, as well as part 2 of article 309 — for the illegal manufacture, acquisition, and possession of narcotic substances without the intent to sell in large amounts.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officers are clarifying all circumstances and motives of the offense.
