Dnipro – a city where modern urbanism beautifully blends with nature and history. Here, the most interesting stories are hidden among river currents, green hills, and islands, and true beauty can only be felt when you walk on foot, stop, listen, and watch.
Monastery Island
Monastery Island is one of the ancient yet mysterious locations of Dnipro. It has undergone changes in names and ownership over different times but has always remained a special place. Tools used by Neanderthals have even been discovered here – evidence that humans appeared on this land as far back as the Paleolithic era.

Since the 10th century, the island has been mentioned in legends about the journey of the Apostle Andrew and about Byzantine monks who supposedly founded a monastery here. In the Middle Ages, it was a stop on the route "from the Varangians to the Greeks" – princes of Kievan Rus would arrive here before proceeding through the Dnipro rapids.

In the 20th century, it was connected by a pedestrian bridge to Shevchenko Park, and today it is a popular recreation area with observation platforms, beaches, water clubs, and the Church of St. Nicholas.
Waterfall "Roaring Threshold"
Where: Monastery Island Street
The modern "Roaring Threshold" on Monastery Island is a restored reminder in the urban space of one of the true Dnipro rapids that disappeared after the launch of the Zaporizhzhia Hydro Power Plant. The waterfall was opened in 2013: water cascades down from a height of approximately 17 meters over a natural stone slope, creating a wide cascade that is visible from various points along the embankment.

The location is situated next to Ukraine's largest monument to Taras Shevchenko. The waterfall operates seasonally and has become a popular spot for walks: it’s convenient to observe the river, photograph the panorama, and see how the natural relief of the island combines with the modern urban environment.
Art Object "Ball of Wishes"
Where: Festival Pier, 53B Sicheslavska Naberezhna Street

At the Festival Pier on the embankment stands an object that no tourist in Dnipro can miss – a large green "Ball of Wishes". Weighing about two tons, the ball has adorned the pier since 2016 and is mounted on a 7-meter pyramidal base. It has become one of the symbols of the embankment: noticeable from various points, photogenic, and recognizable.

But what attracts the most visitors is the local tradition: you can place a note with your wish in the special openings of the ball – it’s said that this increases the chances of its fulfillment.
Menorah
Where: 4/26 Sholem Aleichem Street

In the very heart of Dnipro stands "Menorah" – the largest Jewish community center in the world and one of the most famous modern landmarks of the city. The total area of "Menorah" is about 50,000 square meters, making it a unique combination of culture, business, museum spaces, and urban life.

Inside, a multitude of interesting things awaits visitors:
- a marble gallery adorned with Jerusalem stone, featuring reconstructed facades of 12 historical buildings of old Ekaterinoslav;
- cafes and restaurants, creative workshops, banks, offices, and two hotel complexes;
- an observation deck on the 63rd floor with panoramic views of Dnipro.

The most significant part of the complex is the museum "Memory of the Jewish People and the Holocaust in Ukraine" – the third largest memorial museum of its kind in the world.

Atlas Sculpture
Where: 51 Shevchenko Street
"Atlas" at the intersection of two central boulevards has become one of the most striking modern landmarks of Dnipro. Created by Ukrainian artists Yehor and Mykyta Zigura, this sculpture has received international recognition and many prestigious awards.

The figure of the giant depicts the moment of liberation: he has just torn iron shackles and is stepping forward. The sculpture is installed in the public space "Agora," at a point where the two boulevards – "past" and "future" – are conditionally joined.
The sculpture has become not only an art object but also part of the city’s significance: a place where tourists are photographed, meetings are held, and where walks through the renovated center begin.

Mini-Sculptures "Feel Dnipro"
"Feel Dnipro" is a city art project, as part of which a series of bronze mini-sculptures have been installed in the center of Dnipro, dedicated to key symbols and historical themes of the city. Among them are a miniature copy of the Merof-Kherson Bridge, "Dnipro Cookie," a sculpture with a boat honoring the city's river history, and compositions related to Ekaterinoslav, the old districts, and local legends.

Some of the sculptures are placed on the parapets and facades of buildings on Dmytro Yavornytskyi Avenue, while others are on the embankment and near notable spots. Each work features a plaque with a QR code that opens a short story specifically about that object.

The project was created so that the city can literally be "read" during a walk. Tourists can assemble their own routes and hunt for sculptures that differ in style and theme.

Rooftop by Brooks is a place where people come in Dnipro for an evening atmosphere over the city. The establishment is located right on the roof, so during dinner you sit under the open sky, with a view of the river and the central quarters below.

This is not an observation deck or a regular terrace – you can truly feel the height, the fresh air, and the special mood for which Rooftop by Brooks has become popular among tourists. This format of dining on the roof distinguishes the establishment among other locations on the embankment.

Art Alley
Art Alley in Dnipro quickly became one of the main magnets for creative individuals and visitors to the city.

This is a space where contemporary Ukrainian art literally comes out onto the street: you can see the works of artists who have moved to Dnipro due to the war and have continued to create here.

The space of the alley has turned into a living gallery under the open sky. Here are the works of the winners of a special competition – artists who embodied their ideas in the format of public art.

For tourists, this is an opportunity to see Dnipro from a different angle: through the prism of contemporary Ukrainian art that reflects the strength, resilience, and creativity of the city during the war.
Thus, Dnipro impresses by offering each location its own format of experiences – from walking along the embankment to discovering cozy art spaces and unconventional tourist routes.
