Vincent Kompany emphasized that 'Sporting' is a well-organized team that possesses excellent defensive skills and relies on successful counterattacks. 'Sporting' has demonstrated high activity on the field during recent matches, notably aggressively pressing their opponents in the game against 'Benfica', indicating their readiness for a serious challenge.
'They have many quality players who can threaten the goal. We need to be 100% focused and ready for a tough match. At this point, 'Sporting' justly deserves to be in the top eight teams of the Champions League,' the coach noted.
Kompany also pointed to statistical data, indicating that 'Bayern' may need five wins and one draw to qualify for the Champions League knockout stage. 'But I don't want to think about that too soon. We need to concentrate on the next match,' he added.
Speaking about the team’s personnel situation, Kompany confirmed that team veteran Manuel Neuer will be in the starting lineup and expressed hope for Alphonso Davies' return to play before Christmas.
