The best time to visit this place is on a clear day when you can leisurely stroll and take beautiful photographs against the backdrop of ancient houses.

The complex consists of two houses that showcase the life of potters from the 1920s to the 1960s. Here, they will tell not only about their daily lives but also about the deep meanings and values they infused into their work.

And, of course, visitors will be taught ancient crafts here, as master classes in pottery, modeling, and painting are regularly held.

Krachevskykh Art Family Museum

Here, Ukrainian modernism reveals itself in all its glory. Entering the museum, one can see that Ukraine is not lagging behind in the artistic world. A significant role in the exhibitions is played by Vasyl Krachevskyi.

This is the same artist who created the symbols of the Ukrainian People's Republic and was a pioneer of modernism in architecture.

His brother, Fedir Krachevskyi, also didn't stay in the shadows; he was the first rector of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts. The museum features paintings, project sketches, and graphics, as well as works by contemporaries and descendants of Vasyl Krachevskyi.

The Poshyvailo Family Museum-Residence

Memorial-ethnographic space, dedicated to a family that devoted itself completely to pottery. Havryl and Yavdokha Poshyvailo are hereditary potters whose lineage traces back to the deep 18th century. In the 1970s, they turned their home into the first pottery museum in Ukraine.

Now, after their passing, their grandson Oles Poshyvailo preserves and continues to expand the collection. The National Museum of Pottery has approximately 50,000 exhibits, among which are unique images of products made by the hands of Havryl and Yavdokha.

National Museum-Reserve of Ukrainian Pottery

This is one of the leading cultural-educational complexes covering 5 hectares and one of the largest ceramics museums in Europe. The museum conducts research on Ukrainian traditions in pottery and contributes to the development of the craft.

Its territory hosts both modern and ancient original sculptures that are unmatched in the world. It is no wonder that renowned sculptors from all over the world visited before the full-scale invasion.

The Watchtower

This tower is located within the National Museum-Reserve of Ukrainian Pottery. Previously, it served as a defensive structure for controlling the territory and detecting threats. Today, however, the tower is an important part of historical and cultural heritage.

The tower is also used as an observation deck, which is very popular with visitors. It helps create the ambiance of an ancient Ukrainian village.

The Thunder Well

This unique symbolic and sacred object is part of the National Museum-Reserve of Ukrainian Pottery. It is closely connected to the Ukrainian perceptions of water, the power of nature, and purification. Its name comes from two words:

  • “well” — a source of water;
  • “thunder” — an association with heavenly power and storms.

The well is considered a sacred place and a source of strength and health. Today it is also a tourist attraction, where visitors often stop during excursions.

Shkurpel Pottery Workshop

This is a unique creative pottery workshop where traditional clay dishes, decorative ceramics, and author's products are made. Here, traditional techniques of Opishnya pottery are actively preserved.

Master classes are held for those interested, where they share secrets of working with a potter's wheel, modeling with clay, and creating unique products. Interestingly, while traditional methods are adhered to here, elements of modernity are also present.
