Former head of NEC "Ukrenergo" Oleksiy Brekht tragically died under tragic circumstances. According to the Ministry of Energy, the man died at his workplace due to electric shock while performing official duties.

According to sources, Brekht died at the substation when he touched an electric wire. The Ministry of Energy officially confirmed the top manager's death.

Biography and Professional Path

Oleksiy Brekht was born on March 30, 1978. He had an engineering education in the specialty "Electrical Stations" from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Sikorsky.

He began his professional career in 1999 at the Kyiv Pumped Storage Power Plant. From 2001, he worked at "Ukrenergo", holding various management positions. In particular, he headed the scientific and project center for the development of the united energy system of Ukraine.

Contribution to the Energy Sector

The Ministry of Energy especially emphasized Brekht's significant contribution to the development of the Ukrainian energy system, especially during the challenging period of 2024-2025. "He did everything possible to maintain the system. His contribution to the stability of the united energy system of Ukraine is hard to overestimate," the ministry stated.
