A tragic event occurred in Hong Kong: a massive fire broke out in the high-rise residential complex "Wang Fuk Court" in the Tai Po district, resulting in the deaths of four people, including a firefighter, while three others sustained injuries of varying severity.

The fire erupted on Wednesday afternoon and quickly spread due to the bamboo scaffolding surrounding the complex. Thick smoke billowed over the area as firefighters attempted to contain the blaze using aerial ladders.

According to local residents, around 4,000 people lived in the twenty-story complex. Many individuals found themselves trapped inside the building, and initial reports about the number of injured were conflicting.

Part of the building's structure collapsed due to intense heat, causing further concern among rescuers. The heightened fire alarm level, increased to number 4 on a scale of five, indicates the seriousness of the situation.

Reports state that residents had been complaining for several months about workers smoking at nearby construction sites. Despite efforts to contain the fire, the flames continued to spread, prompting authorities to evacuate two neighboring districts, while part of the main road has already been closed.

Rescuers continue their work, trying to save people who may have been trapped under the debris. Many locals express their condolences to the families of the deceased and the injured, hoping that rescuers will manage to save everyone who might still be trapped.
