Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned on January 8 about a potential massive Russian strike in the night of January 9.

"We have information that there may be a new massive Russian strike tonight. It is very important to pay attention to air raid alerts," the head of state said.

Situation in the Regions

According to Zelenskyy, after the previous attack, the situation with electricity supply in Dnipropetrovsk region and Zaporizhzhia region became extremely difficult. In the Zaporizhzhia region, electricity supply was restored according to schedules.

"Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Nikopol, Pavlohrad, and other cities and communities of Dnipro region are still operational. There were new strikes on energy infrastructure and civilian sector, including residential buildings in Kryvyi Rih," the president reported.

Government Actions

Zelenskyy instructed the government to help local authorities and all involved services to the maximum extent. The president emphasized that due to poor weather conditions, an emergency mode has been declared for all services.

In addition, the head of state signed decrees appointing heads of Poltava, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
