Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his New Year's address, announced significant progress in peace negotiations, reporting that the peace agreement is 90% complete.

In his address, he emphasized that only ten percent remains, which will determine the fate of peace, Ukraine, and Europe. "Ten percent to save millions of lives. Ten percent of determination needed to make peace work at full capacity," Zelenskyy stressed.

Key Messages of the Address

  • Ukraine seeks peace, but not at any cost
  • The country has been standing strong for 1,407 days of full-scale war
  • Russia is unable to end the war on its own

The President also noted that peace guarantees must be ratified by the US Congress, European parliaments, and all partners.

Support from International Partners

Zelenskyy thanked the leaders of countries supporting Ukraine, including the US President, governments of Europe, and other countries worldwide. He emphasized that Ukraine is the "sole shield" separating comfortable European life from the "Russian world".

"Russia will only find a way to end the war when it finds more reasons for peace than for war," the president stressed in his address.
