The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, was urgently hospitalized overnight before the traditional pre-New Year State Council meeting, which was held under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin.
According to "Novaya Gazeta. Europe", Kadyrov arrived in Moscow on December 24, planning to participate in the meeting, but his health condition sharply deteriorated. During the night, the Chechen leader was transported by ambulance to the Central Clinical Hospital of the Russian Presidential Administration.
What is Known About Kadyrov's Condition
Sources claim that "in Moscow, he was barely revived, after which he returned home and has not appeared in public since." Kadyrov himself previously acknowledged having health problems.
"I sometimes have nervous breakdowns. A constant feeling of tension, as if sitting on an electric current," he said, explaining his condition with worries about Chechen fighters in the war against Ukraine.
Additional Circumstances
This year, Kadyrov was on official leave four times, which is atypical for his management style. Journalists previously reported possible serious kidney problems for the Chechen leader.
Despite his critical health condition, the Russian presidential administration approved his candidacy for the republic's head election in 2026.
