Purpose and Significance of the Ritual
By decree of the President of Ukraine, a daily memorial ritual has been established to honor the heroes who gave their lives for the country's independence and sovereignty.
Hero Example - Mykhailo Kovalskyi
Today, in particular, they remember defender Mykhailo Kovalskyi, a native of Mykolaiv Oblast, who died in August 2023 in Donetsk region. The man served in the 80th Separate Air Assault Galician Brigade and had the call sign "Dobriak".
The daily moment of silence reminds Ukrainians about the heroism and sacrifice of their defenders.
