The "Kursk" troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially stated full control over the village of Andriivka in Sumy Oblast, refuting previously spread information from the analytical project "DeepState" about the alleged Russian occupation of the settlement.
Details of the Confrontation
According to military reports, from the evening of January 6, Russian troops launched a massive combined assault on the positions of the 71st Separate Air Assault Brigade between the villages of Andriivka and Oleksiivka.
Five enemy groups unsuccessfully tried to approach the defensive line. The military reported several failed attempts by the enemy:
- Attempt to attack using a gas pipe
- Assault on quad bikes
- Simultaneous infantry attack from different sides
Combat Results
Ukrainian defenders reported the complete destruction of enemy units. The total losses of Russian occupiers amounted to 42 military personnel, who were destroyed using drones and artillery.
On June 14, 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the final liberation of Andriivka in Sumy Oblast.
