Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi held a meeting on the state of engineering fortification of defensive positions and preparation of settlements for potential defense.
According to the general, the state of engineering equipment for defense lines and "anti-drone" protection has significantly improved in 2025. Engineering troops of the Armed Forces Support Forces are working closely with local authorities to complete critical tasks of setting up protective structures.
Key Fortification Work Directions
- Creating extensive trench and dugout systems
- Installing anti-tank ditches
- Constructing bunkers
- Enhancing "anti-drone" protection
Syrskyi emphasized that the defense experience of the Pokrovsk-Myrnograd agglomeration confirms the effectiveness of timely and high-quality fortifications. "Such engineering barriers allow creating an effective defense, inflicting maximum losses on the enemy at the approaches and disrupting their plans, even with numerical superiority," the Commander-in-Chief noted.
During the meeting, the status of defensive positions, readiness of settlements for defense were discussed in detail, and specific steps for further improvement of fortification structures were determined.
