According to new revelations from Bloomberg, a conversation took place between Steve Witkoff, special envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump, and Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the President of Russia on foreign policy issues. During the conversation, the participants discussed the transmission of the Russian "peace plan" with the aim of allowing the American side to present it as its own initiative.
The agency published details of the conversation that occurred on October 29, in which Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, confirmed that the document would have to be transmitted informally, hoping that the text would remain as close as possible to the Russian original.
The Peace Plan in the Context of Global Politics
According to Dmitriev, he plans to deliver the document personally to Witkoff, noting the importance of preserving the wording "word for word." He also expressed concerns about potential changes in the content of the plan that the document may undergo at the dawn of transformation when presented by the American side.
In their conversation, Witkoff provided recommendations on strategies that Putin might use during his negotiations with Trump. He emphasized the importance of mentioning the peace agreement achieved in Palestine-Israel to underscore Russia's desire for a peaceful resolution to the situation in Ukraine.
Next Steps and Risks
Ushakov, in turn, expressed his concerns that the American side might misinterpret the proposal or make amendments to already agreed conditions, which could lead to their manipulation. In response, Dmitriev assured that consultations would continue and he would make efforts to avoid such a situation.
This new data confirms that negotiations between Russia and the USA may have a deeper integration than previously thought and raises questions about the true nature of the peace plan presented by the Trump administration.
It has not been possible to clarify in what form the USA received the Russian plan from Kyiv and what its main points were; however, the data indicates the credits of the Russian side in implementing the peace process at a global level.
