The State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine has issued an official warning about difficult weather conditions that will cover 20 regions of the country. Meteorologists from Ukrhydromet forecast heavy snow, blizzards, and storm winds.
Where the Most Challenging Situation is Expected
The most problematic regions will be:
- Rivne, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, and Chernihiv regions – heavy snow and blizzards;
- Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions – significant rain with wet snow;
- Several regions expect storm winds with speeds of 15-20 meters per second.
Warnings for Citizens
SES urges citizens to be extremely careful: "Roads will be very slippery – a Level I danger has been declared. Drivers and pedestrians must be extremely attentive".
Service representatives emphasize: "It's best, if possible, not to travel anywhere. Road conditions may be critical due to strong winds and ice".
Temperature Regime
Meteorologists forecast temperature drops at night to 11-19 degrees below zero, during the day – up to 7-15 degrees below zero. In the south and east of the country, temperatures will be somewhat milder – from 5 degrees below zero to 3 degrees above zero.
Ukrainians are asked to carefully monitor weather conditions and messages from local emergency services.
