U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio reported significant progress in the peace negotiations held in Geneva "over the weekend." According to him, the talks were the most productive during the entire U.S. involvement in the peace settlement process.

"Today, we achieved significant progress. We have a very good working version of the plan that takes into account the proposals from all parties," Rubio noted.

The main goal of the meeting was to align the open points of the peace plan, which consists of 28 points. Rubio refrained from commenting on specific details but emphasized the importance of consultations with both the Ukrainian and Russian sides.

"We are working on making changes to the plan to find a compromise that will be acceptable for Ukraine and the U.S.," he added.

The head of the Ukrainian delegation, Andriy Yermak, also expressed hope for constructive outcomes and noted the productivity of the meetings. The negotiations discussed conditions that could become critically important for Ukraine's national interests.

Rubio confirmed that the final version of the document must be agreed upon with the U.S. president. He stated that "speed in reaching agreements is important" and expressed hope that a deal could be reached within the coming days.

It is also worth noting that the negotiations discussed counterproposals from European partners, which included limitations on the number of Ukrainian military personnel.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky remarked that American proposals could consider several "critically important" aspects related to Ukraine.

The negotiations will continue, and the parties hope to achieve a positive outcome to ensure that the war does not resume in the future.
