Today, December 4, Ukraine celebrates Rocket Forces and Artillery Day. According to decree No. 748/2024, signed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in early November, this holiday is now celebrated on this day. Previously, Rocket Forces and Artillery Day was held on November 3, combining modernity and traditions related to the events of World War II.

The change of date for the celebration is related to honoring Saint Barbara, who is considered the patron saint of artillerymen in many countries, including Spain, France, Poland, and the USA. Through this decree, the President of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense aim to recognize the courage and heroism of the military serving in rocket forces and artillery and to establish new military traditions.

Greetings from the Military

The Command of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has already congratulated the servicemen of the Rocket Forces and Artillery on their professional holiday, noting that these units are among the key components of the combat power of the Ukrainian army. "Your accuracy, firepower, and coordinated work ensure successful actions on the battlefield every day," reads the greeting.

Furthermore, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, emphasized the important role of artillerymen in reducing the military potential of the enemy, stating: "The skill of the artillerymen and the precision of the rocket forces support our units in carrying out the most complex tasks."

These greetings are particularly relevant in the context of the modern challenges faced by the Ukrainian army. Military units that operate in the field of rocket forces and artillery perform crucial tasks, including the destruction of enemy command posts and countering their military operations.

Expressions of Gratitude

The military recognized that the success of many operations at the front depends on the rocket units and artillery brigades, and the accuracy of their fire contributes not only to the survivability of the units but also to the overall pressure on the aggressor.

At the conclusion of the celebration, military commanders wished all servicemen good health, luck, and great success on the battlefield, calling for unity of efforts to achieve ultimate victory. "Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!" conclude their greetings.
