The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine (GUR) has published sensational information about the rescue of Russian Volunteer Corps commander Denis Kapustin, who was previously believed to be dead.
According to intelligence, reports of Kapustin's death on December 27 were part of a complex special operation that lasted over a month. Russian security services allocated 500 thousand dollars for his elimination, considering the commander a personal enemy of President Vladimir Putin.
Details of the Special Operation
GUR Chief Kyrylo Budanov personally confirmed that Kapustin is alive. During a video meeting, the commander of the "Timur Special Unit" reported on the successful exposure of the customers and perpetrators of the assassination attempt.
"The failure of the Russian security services - RDC commander Denis Kapustin is alive, and the received half a million dollars for his elimination will strengthen the GUR special units," the intelligence reported.
Further Actions
Kapustin himself stated that his temporary absence did not affect the work of the units. He is ready to continue carrying out combat missions.
The "Russian Volunteer Corps" is a formation fighting on Ukraine's side, consisting mainly of Russian citizens who aim to "liberate their land from the Putin regime".
