The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, visited Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region today, where he recorded a video against the backdrop of a partly destroyed stele at the entrance to the city. The head of state emphasized the significance of the Ukrainian military's work in the Kupiansk direction, highlighting their achievements in the fight against Russian occupiers.
Zelensky, in his address, thanked all the soldiers fighting for Ukraine: "Today – the Kupiansk direction, our warriors, who are achieving results for Ukraine here. Many Russians have talked about Kupiansk – we see it. I was there, I greeted the guys. Thank you to every unit, to everyone fighting here, to everyone destroying the occupiers."
Volodymyr Zelensky also noted that results on the front line are extremely important for achieving success in diplomacy. "This is how it works: all our strong positions within the country translate into strong positions in discussions about ending the war," the president stated.
The situation in Kupiansk remains complicated. Previously, Ukrainian troops conducted a successful counterattack, freeing Kindrashiivka, Radkivka, and some neighborhoods in the north of Kupiansk. Meanwhile, Russian occupiers claimed to have control over the city, but Ukrainian military denied these claims.
The head of the National Guard of Ukraine "Charter" also confirmed the stabilization of the situation in the Kupiansk direction, reporting a successful operation in the region.
On the occasion of the Day of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, celebrated on December 12, Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his admiration for the courage and professionalism of the Ukrainian military, highlighting their contribution to the defense of the country.
