Today, December 6, in the morning, during an air alert, powerful explosions rang out in Lutsk. According to the city mayor Ihor Polishchuk, the city became a target of an attack by the Russian army, which used strike drones.
The shelling began around 07:05, when three UAVs approached Lutsk from different directions. As a result of the attack, there was a hit on food warehouses in one of the residential areas of the city.
Situation in Lutsk
Mayor Ihor Polishchuk confirmed on Telegram that the air defense is actively operating in the city. Local media reported smoke arising from the explosions and that part of the regional center was left without electricity.
At the moment, there is no information about casualties, but eyewitnesses noted that after the explosion, a column of black smoke appeared over the city.
Attack in the context of the armed conflict
It is worth noting that this is not the first attack by Russian troops on Ukrainian cities today. Similar incidents have also been reported in Poltava and other regions, where air defense sirens are sounding.
Preventing such attacks is becoming increasingly difficult, yet the Ukrainian army continues to defend the territory of the country.
