Today, December 10, 41-year-old Dmytro Kadenyuk, son of the first astronaut of independent Ukraine Leonid Kadenyuk, was found dead in Kyiv. According to sources, the man's body was discovered in the apartment at Lesya Ukrainka Square by his mother, Vira Kadenyuk.

According to reports, Dmytro was found lying near the entrance door of the apartment with multiple stab wounds. A knife was found in his hand. It is known that no suicide note was found, and the nature of the wounds suggests a possible struggle.

Police have launched an investigation

The police have already opened a criminal case under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — intentional murder. A forensic investigative team and medical experts are working at the scene.

It is known that after the death of Leonid Kadenyuk, which occurred on January 31, 2018, disputes over inheritance arose among relatives. In particular, this concerns a 4-room apartment in Pechersk. Vira Kadenyuk has reported receiving threats from the astronaut's son from his first marriage, Volodymyr, who is also claiming a share of the property.

Leonid Kadenyuk, the first astronaut of independent Ukraine, achieved significant success in his career by flying on the NASA shuttle "Columbia" in 1997. He was also a well-known political figure and a major general in aviation.
