The 16-year-old Ukrainian Alexander Bondarev has become the first champion of the formula series from Ukraine, winning the title at the final stage of the "Formula 4" Middle East in Qatar. According to Sport.ua, the young driver officially secured the championship title of the season despite challenging circumstances during the final race.
Before the conclusion of the races, Alexander Bondarev and his main rival, the Frenchman Andy Kosani, had a 23-point gap in favor of the Ukrainian. Bondarev needed to finish no lower than 9th place to guarantee the title for himself. The race was intense, and right from the early laps, the safety car was deployed, complicating the situation for all participants.
Despite some difficulties related to losing position on the restart, Bondarev finished the race in fifth place. Andy Kosani took victory; however, this was enough for Alexander to claim his first title in the overall standings of "Formula 4," becoming the first Ukrainian to achieve this success in this category.
Prior to this, Bondarev had shown successful results in the rookie standings of "Formula 4" in 2025, where he also secured victories. He currently races for the Indian team "Mumbai Falcons" and plans his further appearances in the Italian "Formula 4" with the "Prema Racing" team.
This triumph has opened a new chapter in the history of Ukrainian motorsport and presents new opportunities for the young driver as competition continues to grow each year.
