Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson sharply criticized the new "peace plan" proposed by the United States for Ukraine in his article for the "Daily Mail." Johnson points out that this plan indicates a "military castration" of Ukraine and serves the interests of the Kremlin.
According to Johnson, the current situation is an "image of incompetence" on the part of the West, which has suffered significant losses in the war while trying to subdue Ukraine. He emphasized that, according to recent data, the enemy has lost over a million soldiers killed and wounded but still has not managed to capture more than 20% of the territory of the country.
Johnson believes that the new "peace plan" includes a Russian veto on Ukraine's membership in NATO and Ukraine's control over the admission of foreign troops. The former Prime Minister called this "a complete capitulation" and "a betrayal of Ukraine," comparing the situation to the Munich Agreement.
European leaders are also beginning to feel dissatisfaction with this plan. According to media reports, representatives of leading European states plan to meet in Geneva on November 23 to discuss at least four points that require changes, as they disagree with the proposed terms.
In particular, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz openly expressed his opposition to plans to transfer strategically important territories, such as Donbas and Crimea, to Russia. Merz, along with other European leaders, stressed the need to strengthen Ukraine militarily rather than weaken it.
In summary, Johnson called for more decisive actions from Western allies, rather than compromises that could threaten Ukraine's security in the future.
