LG Electronics has unveiled a new line of UltraGear evo gaming monitors, which will be showcased for the first time at CES 2026. The company emphasizes the combination of ultra-high resolution (from 5K), high refresh rates, and integrated AI algorithms that allow for image scaling up to 5K without additional strain on the graphics card.

UltraGear evo is positioned as the next step in the premium gaming segment, as previously users had to choose between image quality and performance. LG claims that the new series removes this limitation.

The main distinguishing feature of UltraGear evo is a unique AI image scaling technology up to 5K, integrated directly into the monitor. The system analyzes the signal in real-time and enhances its sharpness to 5K level before it is displayed on the screen.

This means that users can run games or content in lower resolutions without changing the graphics card, while still getting a significantly more detailed image. In addition to upscaling, the AI module is also responsible for scene and sound optimization, adjusting them according to the type of content.

At launch, the UltraGear evo series includes three models, each with its specific purpose.

LG UltraGear evo 39GX950B — 39″ OLED 5K2K

The 39-inch 39GX950B is a curved OLED monitor with a resolution of 5K2K and a 21:9 aspect ratio. It features a Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel that provides increased brightness, accurate color reproduction, and deep blacks.

The monitor supports Dual Mode: 165 Hz in 5K2K for maximum detail and 330 Hz in WFHD for esports disciplines.

Response time is 0.03 ms (GtG). A curvature of 1500R and a density of 142 PPI make this model suitable not only for gaming but also for working with content.

The 27GM950B model is the world's first 27-inch 5K monitor using MiniLED with a new blooming effect control scheme. The panel has 2,304 local dimming zones and uses a Zero Optical Distance engineering approach that minimizes halos around bright objects.

The monitor supports 165 Hz in 5K and 330 Hz in QHD.

Peak brightness reaches 1,250 nits, and the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification allows for not only gaming use but also professional work with HDR content.

LG UltraGear evo 52G930B — 52″ 5K2K with a 240 Hz refresh rate

The third model, the 52G930B, is the largest gaming monitor in the series — 52 inches with a resolution of 5K2K. It is comparable in height to a 42-inch 16:9 display but has an ultra-wide 12:9 format, providing one-third more workspace than standard UHD.

The monitor supports a refresh rate of 240 Hz, has a curvature of 1000R, and is VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified, making it ideal for simulation games and immersive scenarios.

LG aims to address one of the key challenges of 5K gaming — high GPU requirements. If AI scaling works effectively, it could lower the entry barrier for high resolutions and make 5K a more accessible format.

At the same time, the company emphasizes that these technologies are designed not only for the gaming market but also for professional and B2B segments, including medical displays.

The LG UltraGear evo series will be showcased for the first time at CES 2026 in two demo areas: the themed Dream Setup booth and the SimCraft racing simulator. Additionally, LG has confirmed the start of global sales for the UltraGear GX7 (27GX790B) model — a QHD monitor with an OLED panel and a refresh rate of up to 540 Hz.

Prices and release dates for UltraGear evo have not yet been announced.
