The New Minister of Defense of Ukraine Presented a Plan for Transforming the Department
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appointed 34-year-old Michael Fedorov as the new Minister of Defense, voting 277 votes "in favor". This historic appointment made Fedorov the youngest head of the defense department in the state's history.
Key Tasks of the New Minister
Fedorov immediately outlined priority areas for army reformation:
- Conducting a comprehensive audit of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces of Ukraine
- Solving the problem of mobilization evasion
- Providing brigades with modern drones
- Modernizing the military training system
Issues Requiring Immediate Resolution
According to Fedorov, almost two million Ukrainians are currently wanted, and about 200,000 military personnel have arbitrarily left military units. The Minister promised to propose a systematic solution after a quick audit.
"The President set a clear task: to build a system capable of stopping the enemy in the sky, on the ground, to strengthen asymmetric and cyber strikes against the enemy and its economy," Fedorov stated.
Technological Ambitions
The new minister plans to create domestic artillery ammunition with laser guidance and develop an analog of the Russian mass-produced drone "Molnia".
It is important to note that Fedorov was born in the city of Vasylivka, Zaporizhzhia region, which is currently occupied by the Russian army, which adds special motivation to his words.
