The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense conducted a unique special operation, as a result of which it not only saved the life of the "Russian Volunteer Corps" commander Denis Kapustin but also forced Russian special services to finance Ukrainian intelligence.
Details of the Special Operation
On December 27, 2025, information appeared on the network about the alleged death of Denis Kapustin in the Zaporizhzhia direction as a result of an FPV drone strike. As it turned out later, this was part of a carefully planned GUR operation.
According to the special services, Russian structures ordered the elimination of Kapustin, whom Putin considers a personal enemy, allocating $500,000 for this. The GUR special unit "Timur" conducted a complex operational game for a month, as a result of which the customers believed in the successful execution of the "murder".
Operation Result
GUR Chief Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov personally received a report from the special unit commander and Denis Kapustin himself. "Mr. Denis, I congratulate you on your return to life. I am glad that the funds received for the order of your elimination went to help our struggle," Budanov said.
Kapustin confirmed that his temporary "absence" did not interfere with the unit's combat missions, and he is already ready to return to the front.

Thanks to the operation, Ukrainian intelligence not only received funding but also established the full circle of customers in Russian special services and the network of executors.
