In Chechnya, in the capital Grozny, a powerful explosion occurred today in the building of the "Grozny-City" complex. According to preliminary data, the explosion was the result of a drone attack. The information has been confirmed by an opposition Chechen source — the NIYSO project, as well as the media outlet "Dozhd".
The explosion destroyed the facade of several floors of the skyscraper, and the shockwave was so strong that it damaged windows on the 28th floor. It is known that important government institutions are located in the building, including the "Security Council of Chechnya", the "Accounts Chamber", and the regional "election commission".
Details of the attack
According to the resource "Astra", local residents reported a possible connection between the explosion and the drone attack; however, no official comments have yet been received from the Chechen authorities.
It is worth noting that today, temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft were introduced in Grozny, Vladikavkaz, and Magas due to the threat of drone attacks. This occurred against the backdrop of real threats, as in recent days Ukrainian drones have carried out several attacks in Chechnya, including shelling of the Rosgvardiya military town "Akhmat-North".
Let us remind you that recently explosions were also recorded in the territory of Novokuybyshevsk in the Samara region, which caused outrage in the Russian press.
Official reaction
At this time, none of the official institutions have commented on today's incident. It is expected that additional data about the explosion and its consequences will be published soon.
