The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has made a decision regarding the arrest of two suspects in the murder of 21-year-old Ukrainian Danilo Kuzmin, the son of the deputy mayor of Kharkiv. The horrific incident occurred in November 2025 in Vienna, Austria.

The suspects were identified as Oleksandr Agoev and Bohdan Rynzhuk. According to reports from Ukrainian media, Rynzhuk is the stepson of the Ukrainian Ambassador to Bulgaria, Olesya Ilashchuk. Both suspects are accused of premeditated murder, choosing means with prior intent: they purchased gasoline at a gas station, forcing the victim to make a transfer of 50 thousand euros from his cryptocurrency wallet before the criminal act.

Austrian police discovered Kuzmin's body in a burnt-out car. Foreign law enforcement agencies handed the case over to Ukraine for the commencement of criminal prosecution in accordance with international norms and principles of effective justice.

The Ukrainian Ambassador to Bulgaria, Olesya Ilashchuk, urged the public not to associate her diplomatic service with the investigation, emphasizing the presumption of innocence and ethical norms. She also asked to wait for the court's official decisions before making any political interpretations.

Currently, both suspects are being held in custody due to the gravity of the charges against them. This murder has caused significant resonance both in Ukraine and internationally, prompting a focus on effective cooperation among law enforcement from many countries to ensure justice is served.
