Today, December 17, 2025, Russian forces launched powerful strikes on Zaporizhzhia, causing significant destruction to the city’s infrastructure. During the attack, at least two residential buildings and several infrastructure facilities were damaged. The shelling resulted in fires that caused extensive damage and necessitated the evacuation of residents.
According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the regional military administration, the strikes were carried out by “Shaheds” and other drone and aviation means. As a result of the shelling, three people were injured, and five apartments were completely destroyed by fire.
The first reports of the attack were received on December 16, when Russian forces attempted to hit several infrastructure targets in the city. These events sparked intense discussion among local residents and caught the attention of experts.
Fedorov urged residents of Zaporizhzhia to adhere to safety measures and stay in shelters until the official end of the air raid alert. He emphasized that all participants involved in assisting the victims continue to work at the scene to ensure the safety and support of the residents.
Amid the threat of further strikes, the city remains tense. Authorities continue working on restoring damaged buildings and providing assistance to people left homeless.
This attack is part of ongoing aggressive actions by Russia in Ukraine, raising concerns in the international community. The government has appealed to the global community to support efforts to cease fire and ensure peace.
