Intense fighting continues between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops at the front. As of today, February 7, 2026, there have been 137 combat clashes, including 62 attacks by the invaders.

Foreign attacks on key positions

The highest enemy activity has been recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, where the Russian army launched 40 attacks. The Ukrainian Defense Forces have shown courage, repelling 28 of these attacks, but the situation remains tense.

According to reports from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian troops are shelling border settlements, including Khrypivka, Blyashnya, and Arkhipivka in the Chernihiv region, as well as Bezsalivka, Ryzhivka, and Udachne in the Sumy region.

Hostile drones and the threat to nuclear security

Amid the fighting, Russian drones have struck civilian targets. It is known that a volunteer was killed in Beryslav as a result of a drone attack, complicating the evacuation of the population. The enemy is also attempting to attack areas around nuclear power plants, with dozens of drones reported in observation zones at the Chernobyl and Rivne nuclear power plants. Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, highlighted the risks posed by this situation to nuclear safety.

Consequences for the civilian population

Russian attacks have resulted in the deaths of civilians in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. For the local population, this has caused serious issues, such as loss of life and destruction of property. Questions have arisen concerning security and the effectiveness of defense during evacuations.

Despite the difficulties, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to defend the country's territory, holding back the enemy's pressure and protecting their citizens.
