This week, worsening weather conditions are forecasted in Ukraine. In particular, on December 14, Kyiv and the surrounding area are expected to experience rain and wet snow, accompanied by icy conditions on the roads. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the weather conditions will deteriorate again on Sunday due to the approach of a compact cyclone from Scandinavia.
Meteorologists clarify that during the night, light snowfall is expected in the Kyiv region, while during the day, moderate wet snow with wet snow sticking is forecasted. Nighttime temperatures will fluctuate around -3 to -5°, while during the day they will reach 0°. The wind will be southerly, transitioning to northwestern, at a speed of 7-12 m/s.
In addition to Kyiv region, similar weather conditions will also be observed in the Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions, where icy conditions will also develop on the roads. Therefore, residents are advised to be cautious on the roads due to the possibility of insufficient tire grip with the road surface.
According to meteorologist Vitalii Postryhan, throughout the next few days, Ukraine will experience cloudy and cool weather with light precipitation. However, warming is expected again starting December 16.
We recommend keeping an eye on forecasts and following safety measures on the roads!
