Late on January 23, official Kremlin representatives announced the completion of lengthy negotiations between US President's Special Representative Steven Whitcoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to the Kremlin press service, the meeting lasted over 3.5 hours and ended at 2:04 Kyiv time. Details of the negotiations were not immediately disclosed.

Meeting Context

Previously, Axios reported that White House envoys Steve Whitcoff and Jared Kushner intended to visit Moscow to discuss a "peace plan" for ending the war in Ukraine.

After the negotiations concluded, the American delegation's convoy immediately left Kremlin territory and departed for Vnukovo airport.

Perspectives

During the Ukrainian Breakfast in Davos, Whitcoff spoke about "significant progress" in the negotiations and emphasized that he plans to visit Kyiv in the near future, without specifying an exact date.
