State Joint Stock Company "Ukrzaliznytsia" will implement a new train schedule starting December 14 this year, which includes the expansion of international routes to European cities. This was announced by the company through its Telegram channel.
With the new routes, Ukrainians will be able to comfortably reach distant European countries with one transfer. The number of international routes has increased from 11 to 17. This will enable travel from Kharkiv, Poltava, Kyiv, and Lviv to cities such as Prague, Vienna, Salzburg, and Munich.
For example, train No. 63/64 "Oberih" on the route Kharkiv - Kyiv - Przemyśl will become key for journeys from eastern Ukraine to EU countries. The train departs from Kharkiv at 23:50, from Kyiv at 08:05, and from Lviv at 14:49, arriving in Przemyśl at 16:59. From Przemyśl, it will be possible to travel to Munich just one hour later.
New Routes and Amenities for Passengers
In addition to the main international routes, "Ukrzaliznytsia" is also offering new regular regional routes in western Ukraine. In particular, flights between Lviv and Vorokhta, as well as Lviv and Kovel, are being launched, significantly improving connectivity.
The state company has taken care of passenger convenience by launching direct flights on the Zhytomyr - Kyiv - Konotop route. Additionally, changes will affect the schedules of suburban services, which take user requests into account.
Ukrzaliznytsia plans to provide hourly service between Kyiv and Lviv, making travel even more convenient and accessible, expanding opportunities for Ukrainians traveling to European countries.
The updated train schedule with the new changes will be available on the company's official website starting December 14.
