In Ukraine, the "Patient Cabinet" has been successfully launched, allowing Ukrainians to sign declarations with their doctors online. This innovation has officially concluded the beta testing of the platform developed by the Ministry of Health.
According to representatives of the Ministry of Health, it is no longer necessary to physically visit a hospital to submit a declaration or update contact information in the electronic healthcare system. The launch of the platform means that patients will be able to conveniently manage their medical data from anywhere in Ukraine.
The "Patient Cabinet" is available to all adult citizens, as well as teenagers aged 14 to 18 who have an electronic signature. Teenagers can independently log into their cabinet, view personal data, and, with confirmed legal capacity, submit declarations and make changes to their personal information.
Functionality of the "Patient Cabinet"
Among the features available in the "Patient Cabinet," users can:
- view and update personal data in the electronic healthcare system;
- view current and previous declarations with their doctor;
- search for a doctor and submit a declaration online without visiting a medical facility;
- manage access to electronic cabinets that patients have authorized to process their personal data.
At this moment, only personal data and declarations are available in the Patient Cabinet. Access to the medical record, which will include tests, prescriptions, and diagnoses, will gradually appear in the following stages of implementation.
According to the completed declaration, the patient has the ability to choose their primary healthcare physician independently. This ensures transparent relationships between the doctor and the patient within the framework of the Medical Guarantees Program, which is funded by the state through the National Health Service of Ukraine.
It is expected that in the future, the "Diia" application will also implement the display of citizens' medical data.
