Ukraine will continue investing in long-range strike capabilities, robotic systems, and advanced military technologies to inflict maximum damage on Russian occupation forces while minimizing risks to Ukrainian troops. Acting Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara announced the strategy following a meeting with the newly appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi.

According to Khmara, Ukraine will maintain technological and military pressure on Russia using every available means.

"Ukraine will continue applying military and technological pressure on Russia by every means available," Khmara said.

He noted that the new military leadership's immediate priorities include strengthening the front line, expanding support from international partners, and pushing combat operations as far away from Ukrainian cities as possible and closer to the territory of the aggressor state.

A key focus will be increasing the supply of modern precision strike capabilities. This includes expanding deep strike and middle strike programs, as well as broader deployment of ground robotic systems (UGVs) that are increasingly carrying out combat missions in place of soldiers.

"We must scale up the capabilities in which we are already effective: deep strike, middle strike, ground robotic systems, and other solutions that save the lives of our soldiers while inflicting maximum damage on the enemy," Khmara said.

During meetings with brigade and corps commanders, Ukraine's military leadership received detailed briefings on the most pressing operational needs of frontline units. The highest-priority issues are expected to be addressed as quickly as possible.

Khmara also stated that he has full confidence in Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi, whose appointment as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had previously been recommended to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to the acting defense minister, he and the new Commander-in-Chief share the same vision for the future development of Ukraine's Defense Forces—a vision that has also been endorsed by President Zelenskyy.

Ukraine's military leadership is now working on a comprehensive action plan aimed at strengthening the country's defense capabilities, accelerating the integration of advanced battlefield technologies, and bringing the war to an end on terms favorable to Ukraine.
